Paint Ontario is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of its juried art show at Lambton Heritage Museum. This year, artists submitted almost 400 paintings, with just under 200 accepted by the jury. The paintings are hung in the museum and are for sale for the duration of the show. Prizes are awarded for first and second place, and various other specialty prizes are given for specific types of works.
Art is, of course, very subjective and each observer has his/her own tastes. The show has a wide range of styles, from realism to impressionist and abstract, and includes oils, acrylics, water colours, and other media – some works are on canvas, others on board. With such a vast variety of works, there is something for everyone.

The Lambton Heritage Museum is located on Highway 21 (Lakeshore Road) about 8 kilometers south of Grand Bend, across from Pinery Park. There is plenty of parking at the museum. It is open daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
After you take in the Paint Ontario art show and sale, go to Grand Bend to my husband’s (Victor Alderson’s) Gallery. He’s located in the plaza on Queens Ave., just off Main Street, and he’s there every afternoon. He has his own original oil paintings and large scenic photographs on display, and most of the time, he’s working on a new piece — you can see him in action!
