Looking for Annie’s Orphans at Huron Country Playhouse

The Huron Country Playhouse is pleased to announce that local young female performers may attend open auditions for the theatre’s upcoming production of Annie. No appointments are necessary; however aspiring young performers should be prepared to sing the popular song, “Hard Knock Life” from Annie. Performance experience is an asset, but not required. A passion for theatre and an outgoing personality are the only prerequisites!

Young female performers, ages 7 to 15, are asked to bring a recent photo and resume of any theatrical productions that they have been involved with (school choirs, dance schools, etc.).

In order to provide opportunities for as many girls as possible to be involved, up to forty youth may be cast in the orphan ensemble with professional actors in the lead roles. To accommodate the rigorous schedule of this grand-scale production, the youth performers will be divided into groups – each group will take the stage for select performances.

Auditions will take place at:
Huron Country Playhouse
RR1, 70689 B Line, Grand Bend , ON N0M 1T0
Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.
The open audition call will begin at 6:00 p.m.

From its Broadway beginnings to the classic film, this heart-warming rags-to-riches story of a young girl’s journey from the hard-knock New York orphanage to the luxurious home of billionaire businessman Oliver Warbucks, is a tale that has been told all over the world for decades. Featuring one of Broadway’s most memorable scores, including “It’s The Hard Knock Life,” “Easy Street” and the legendary “Tomorrow”, it really is no surprise that Annie has become one of the best-loved family musicals of all time.
