A Day in Hamilton

White Christmas &
The Trans-Siberian Orchestra in One Day!

White Christmas on Stage

It was a treat to see White Christmas at Theatre Aquarius in Hamilton over the Christmas Holidays.

What a good cast – in the lead roles were Stephen Patterson and Michael Therriault as Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, with Robin Hutton and Dayna Tekatch as the sisters Betty and Judy Haynes. With Stephan and Robin being a real life husband and wife couple, the audience is rooting for them to get together in the show!

It was especially nice to see Sheridan College grads Michelle Nakamura and Kayla James in the cast. Michelle is a London girl – she will be remembered as Marion the Librarian in The Music Man – the Grand Theatre’s High School Project in 2003.

The stage version of White Christmas is slightly different than the beautiful 1950s movie – a little more believable in the mix-up where Betty walks out in anger. Comedy is added with a couple of very tall, very dumb chorus girls.

I bought Steven Patterson’s CD in the lobby after the show, and I am really enjoying his collection of show tunes.

That was a really good day in Hamilton. After White Christmas, we celebrated daughter Chelsey’s birthday by going to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. What a great show they put on – lots of amazing lighting and fire works. And of course, all their powerful Christmas music!

Only problem – every restaurant in downtown Hamilton was full – we ended up eat subs at the counter of Quinznos!!
