Congratulations to Michelle Bouey who is one of the 20 finalists on the TV show “Over the Rainbow”. CBC TV is hosting the show to select the young woman who will play Dorothy in the Mirvish/Andrew Lloyd Webber production of “Wizard of Oz” on stage in Toronto.
The TV Show “Over the Rainbow” starts this fall, and will whittle the 20 potential Dorothys down to the one who will star in the production in the Ed MIrvish Theatre (formerly Canon) this December.
Michelle Bouey, originally from Charlottetown, PEI was on stage last summer at the Imperial Theatre as part of the Starbright Festival. She was a featured singer in “Let the Sunshine In”.

I enjoyed the CBC ads on TV announcing the auditions for “Over the Rainbow” … a wonderful group of Dorothys who explained what the audition would require, and then ended up stomping on each others toes and shoving each other aside to become the Dorothy. Go to
to see the ad. Some of my favourite young actresses appeared in it — including Tess Benger, currently on stage as Anne in Anne of Green Gables, Charlottetown, and Marisa McIntyre who recently starred in All Shook Up at Stage West.
And break a leg to Michelle Bouey!
